"Pathway-specific optogenetics within the circuitry of attention"
Janina Hueer is currently a doctoral student in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab the German Primate Center in Goettingen, Germany.
Janina about her research
"I am interested in how higher cognitive processes, like attention, influence sensory perception and neural activity. One of my current projects aims at understanding neural circuits that underlie attentional modulations in the visual system. We are using pathway-specific optogenetic manipulations to probe the role of the prefrontal cortex during visual attention. Furthermore, we use psychophysical performance and eye tracking to understand how attention influences sensory processing."
