Electrode Grinding Machine

The Tip Grinding Machine Model DIECKL-ST serves for the precisely controlled production of fine microelectrode tips from tapered fiber electrodes prepulled with the Electrode Tip Puller Model ETP (also manufactured by Thomas RECORDING GmbH) and quartz glass/metal fiber raw material. Fiber electrodes prepared with the Electrode Tip Puller Model ETP and the Tip Grinding Machine DIECKL-ST can be used either in single electrode experiments or in conjunction with the Electrode Manipulator Models “Eckhorn Matrix”, “Mini Matrix” or “Thomas Matrix” for state of the art multielectrode experiments successfully employed in many electrophysiological laboratories around the world (Mountcastle et al., 1991; Eckhorn and Thomas, 1993). Furthermore these electrode fibers can be used for recording experiments in electrochemical applications.
