MEM

(Motorized Electrode Manipulator)

The Thomas Motorized Electrode Manipulator (MEM)™ is a small and lightweight low-cost microdrive system for extracellular recordings.

The Thomas MEM is available with 10 mm or 40 mm electrode travel distance.

This microdrive can be used with different conventional extracellular recording electrodes and preamplifier systems presently available on the market.

The microdrive consists of a precision drive motor, a guide tube unit and a holder for mounting the microdrive to different stereotaxic setups.

The drawing on the rigth side shows a MEM microdrive with 40 mm electrode travel distance mounte to a reound recordign chamber by using a miniature xyz-manipulator.

MEM-40 (40 mm Electrode Travel)

The MEM-40 is a low cost precision microdrive system for single shaft microelectrodes. The MEM-40 microdrive has an electrode travel range of 40,000 µm (40 mm). The guide tube of the microdrive is tapered so that it can easily penetrate the dura mater. The MEM-40 is also available in a dual probe version, which allows two single shaft probes to be operated simultaneously. The MEM-40 is very lightweight and there are several options for integrating the system into a recording setup. Click on the button for more product information.

MEM-10 (10 mm Electrode Travel)

The MEM-10 is a low cost precision microdrive system for single shaft microelectrodes. The MEM-10 microdrive has an electrode travel range of 10,000 µm (10 mm). The guide tube of the microdrive is tapered so that it can easily penetrate the dura mater. The MEM-10 is very lightweight and there are several options for integrating the system into a recording setup. Click on the button for more product information.
